help, i need some rain guards on my truck, please help me find the right brand and fitment

i have a 99 ranger xlt. it has the little backwards swinging doors as well (is that standard for the xlt?)

anyone with the same truck/doors out there with a reccomendation on the subject

You can go to any parts stores that sells automotive accessories and walk out with what you need or atleast have it ordered and on the way. No reason to ask here?

I'm in the same boat with my 93 Ranger XLT supercab...just wanna know which ones suck and which don't before I get spendy with it...tired of the truck peeing on my left arm in the morning when I crack the window for air circulation.

I have a temporary solution to your delema (at least until you get some vent visors)... open the passenger side window for air circulation. Then your truck wont "pee on your arm". :icon_thumby:

explorin94: i'm looking for good quality parts and advise from those who have had issues before and have solved them. also advise from people who have cheaped out and regreted it. you seem to be the guy who is happy to pay too much for the first piece of crap your local parts guy has or even pay tripple at the local speed and custom shop. thats not me, and i specifically do not welcome your input if all you have to say is "buy the first thing you find on the shelf". really all you are actually saying is "take your questions elseware, i dont care enough to help you."

i am part of many forums and have thousands of posts, not a single post i have made or has been made to me on my thread has anywhere as useless as what you have given me.

and to the rest of you, i'm sorry for this. thankyou for your considerate posts and helpful advise

The back doors are standard for every ranger from 98 or 99 and up.
I don't know when they became standard on ext cabs but it was after '06'. Just an option til then even on the XLT.

Lund or AVS are available at any parts store, they will both last as long as the truck, unless you cause some kind of damage to them. Maybe Explorin' should have elaborated a little more, but what he said was right... Just go into any parts store and buy them. They are just pieces of plastic that you stick to you truck, there really arent any better or worse brands out there.

But I'm a gassy dude...as it is I open both windows a little, but still don't like to get peed on when we've had a heavy dew.

Don't consider it getting peed on. Consider it a blessing from your Ranger. Like most religious things it won't be long before it asks you for a tithe anyhow.

I'm more of a total immersion guy rather than sprinkling. So nobody has any brand endorsements to share? Do the stick-on-your-door rain guards stay put or do they peel up/off and sag after a few winters and summers?

I have never seen them sag, I have broken more by grabbing them by mistake when shutting the door. But I never got one to peel off. If you properly prep the area that the tape has to bond to you will have no troubles.
