i need some green paint!!!

i got all the "body work" done on my 1995 Ford Ranger the shop that did it did a horrible job, all they doid was put a new header panel on(black) a Mazda driver door/mirror (dark green) and a black fender. Now since they did'nt paint the truck i need the color that my truck is (mostly) Its teal,i was wondering if any of you guys could give me any good name brands or all around good paint to use. One other thing does anyone know the paINT code of my truck? I dont know it because the information is on my old door, the one that got wrecked. The truck is that teal color.(i dont know the exact "name" of the paint. I know some paints for vehicles have like 8 names to them like "Aqua-marine-teal-pearl-blue-mica" or something krazy like that.

you should be able to look it up with your VIN number.

as for paint the only one I know is House of Kolors.

Maybe PPG? Sounds familiar, but I know very little about paint.

You will not be able to decode your paint code by the vin #. Any auto paint supply store will be able to help you out with your paint code. As far as what kind of paint, Im a painter and have been spraying BASF for over 10 years and find it the best. What ever you use make sure it is quality and not some off the shelf store brand. It will not last. If you have never painted before, well it is not as easy as it looks. Try to find someone with some experience to help you. It will save you alot of trouble. The key to a good paint job is good prep work, quality materials and a clean enviroment. Good luck.

well i have a friend who worked in a auto body shop, who painted and he has the exp. needed. He just cant remember the brand of paint he used. he is going to help me paint the truck. can you show me a can of this BASF paint because my friend thinks this is the paint he used but he needs to see the can to be sure.

BASF is a major player in the auto paint world, some of their brands are, Glasurit, R-M, Diamont and Limco. If you go to their web site and look up automotive finishes you will be able to find the proper labels. Also their should be some paint suppliers in your area that can direct your friend in the right direction.

Well the shop should have cut the old info tag from the wrecked door and gave it to u first off, damn rookies. Ur best bet will be too look up part stores that carry auto body supplies and i see if any in ur area and see if they have the computer to lift the color code right from ur truck ( sometimes called an eye). What it's a small camera that they put on part of ur vehicle, it takes a pic and gives u a formula to make the paint. Theres 2 shops in my area that have one and they normally don't charge but that is going through my business too so. And is the fender a used or new fender? If its a new fender, try to get it coated soon, the black "primer" they put on doesn't do much for protection and will cause issues soon down the road. Hope this helps, good luck

the truck is green, but in this light it was blue (it was cloudy).
