My mechanic called me yesterday said he had a deal for me.. His buddy just blew the head gasket on his 1986 BII. He asked me if I wanted it for 100 bucks.. I already need new hubs which would be 20 bucks used on here anyways. I would have him drop the T-case and transmission for me (as I dont have the means to) and use them when mine inevitably goes. And I would take everything doors forward off of the truck for my ranger because its a piece of work right now.. I would probably save the back windows for whenever I break one of mine.. Basically I just need someone to play devils advocate for me and tell me why I shouldn't do it. If I dont hear any good reasons I'm probably gonna buy it tomorrow.

Scrap value is probably = $100.00
Sorry I couldn't talk you out of it lol.
Check gearing too. If you have room, keep it handy for all the little things you don't know you'll need.

So much for talking him out of it haha.

lolz

yeah i'd buy that in a heartbeat, strip it and then scrap it and probably make money on it.

BTW, if it has a 2.9, i'll buy the oil level sensor off of you if it's in good shape

It is in no way worth $100, where is it at?

What I wouldn't do to find straight rust free front sheetmetal... (mainly DS fender and hood)

No one is going to try to talk you out of it. Buy it.

I wouldn't be able to wait until tomorrow, I'd go get it today! :headbang:

Haha thanks guys im gonna go take a look at it today with some money in my pocket.. Its at my buddies shop now. Basically if it has straight sheet metal im gonna buy it. He said I can keep it down there for as long as I need to before I scrap it so I guess we will see what happens.

The only negative I can see from your standpoint is that BIIs have a way of getting under your skin. You may end up scrapping the Ranger to build it.
