I have a 1993 Ford Ranger STX, I can't find out what type of axel is in it. The door tag and glove box has nothing saying what is in it, anyone know please help me, I need to replace the axel seals. :icon_confused:

You need to tell what you have...2 or 4 wheel drive...Engine size etc. Ford only put two different rear ends under them. A 7.5 and a 8.8. Is your door sticker missing?

Well, since you gave us no info I will just give you what you need to figure it out.

If you have a 4-cylinder it is a 7.5

If you have a 3.0 2wd it is an 8.8

If you have a 3.0 4x4 is is an 8.8

If you have a 4.0 it is an 8.8

I have a 4x4 V6 4.0 liter, I need what kind of front axle is in it. All Auto Zone told me is it could have a Dana 28 or 35.

35.

The true D-28 stopped production in 1989. The hybrid unit was never used with a 4.0.
