I have a 1989 Ford ranger with a 2.3 in it. It's a base s model ranger that was sitting in place for 17 years. I have put a lot of time and money to getting my ranger up and running. I replaced the brakes and the hydraulic system, I replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the tank, I replaced the shocks and greased the front end, I changed the engine oil and the oil in the rear dif. I also replaced the entire cooling system like the radiator coolant hoses temp sensor thermostat etc. I put a new timing belt as well as a new serpentine belt as well as other miscellaneous parts.
Now to my issue
Try as I might the damn thing won't accelerate.
I can't rev it up very high or it will bog down and die down.
When I first got it to start I used carb cleaner. The injectors were not working at first and weren't fueling but now they are. I can also hear them clicking with a stethoscope. I also ran the codes and it came back with a fault with the tp sensor and one for the EGR. I replaced the tps and it still doesn't run right. I plan on cleaning the EGR and I hope it helps.
For reference it won't go over 15 in first and won't do more than 65 ish in 5th. Im also running a fuel cleaner but it hasn't seemed to make a difference. So what do y'all think? What should I try?
