Is a Kragan, Autozone, or Costco good enough. I have had the original in since I bought the truck in Nov 2002. It still working fine , but I think I should replace it while it is working. Any thoughts or advice on the new battery? Thanks in advance....Rich:icon_confused:

anything made by johnson controls.. so duralast(autozone) would be one.
the list is here:

im an exide guy...ive seen the abuse their batteries can endure in marine environments (in alaska no less) for years on end....very high quality.

napas batteries are made by excide.

I would go Duralast. My Dad's work truck goes through hell with one of those, and its lasted through two trucks.

johnson control = mostly made in mexico
exide= mostly made in mexico
neither are maintenance free
east penn= made in USA maintenance free sold at o rileys.
ive sold east penn for almost 2 years now and had great luck with them.

you should check out exides website :icon_thumby:

80 - some bases around the globe, but exide has always been a primarily US oriented company. they've supplied batteries to the military for almost every war the US has been in starting with WWI, and they have even supplied batteries for NASA.

Hello

exide= mostly made in mexico = bs they are made in the states.
inerstate cheap batterys come from mexico.

My self I like my exide battery. In the stang its a deep cycle orbital from exide.
The T-Bird is from crappy tire (exide) and no problems.
My B2 is from Exide and no problems.

My self i will stay with Exide since there warranty is world wide and I have never had a problem with the yet.

Exide also developes and test for future cars. In some countrys Exide is the only one that is let in due to QC and top notch nowledge of there customers.

I used to be an Exide route saleman a couple of years back.

Battery

Another vote for Optima. I got a great deal on my red-top through Advance Auto online.

any brand of AGM battery is a great investment.

yep they have 4 plants in mexico ... so what?
they have 8 plants in the us , and others all over the world.

and if you call not touching it for 6 years maintenence free, well i guess they are lol

fact is they are excellent batteries imo.. and even autozone's brand has
a good price and a good warranty... but each to his own...

I'll drink to that... And hope they bring those plants to the U.S. from Mexico... We need the jobs the idiot in the White House has lost (with the help of companies like WalMart)... Damn I'm drunk...
