went to the junk yard today and fond a turbo mustang coupe with the 2.3, ran out to the truck to grab all my tools, came bak not 10 mins later and it was gone.

hold on... you found a turbo 2.3 mustang coupe in the junkyard, and 10 minutes later it was gone?? what did it do, vanish? was someone else there looking at it? didn't you see it being hauled away? however took it must've been pretty quick and silent to remove the car in 10 minutes without you noticing.

i knew the 2.3 was offered in the mustang, but i didnt know it was offered in turbo setup, i thought the only factory turbo 2.3's was the thunderbird turbo coupe.

no no i ment the turbo set up was gone, when i yelled at my friend eric to get over there i think some mexican guys overheard me and while we went to grab what tools we had i think they snaged all the turbo stuff out. i didnt see them or the turbo stuff....i dont quite remeber but i beleave it was a carbed 2.3 but im not 100%

If it was a carbed Mustang, you didn't miss anything. They were pretty much junk.

I have never seen a SVO Mustang in the junkyard. They are too valuable. If it was a SVO, all you need is the computer. That is what makes it perform. Use the computer with a 87/88 turbo coupe engine with a Garrett turbo and intercooler, and you have the same setup. shady

Turbo?

83 and 84 FI Gt turbos.but
I have an 84 Gt turbo convertible..sweet car.
If it is an SVO then many other parts are mucho sought after.
The block of course will have the forged pistons and is a good start for a project.

Early carb cars are a bit lame.
