I majorly screwed up....

Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong spot, but couldn't find a category for it. I bought a 2000 ford ranger 4x4. Everything was really nice and it had a clean title. Then I noticed the bed was setting on the truck crooked. I got my tape measure and measured the wheel base and the passenger side was 125.7 inches...right on the money. However, the passenger side was 126.5 inches. 1 inch longer!!! I measured from the front axle to the rear and it was still 1 inch. I measured the leaf springs to the hanger and axle and it was where it was supposed to be. That means the frame has stretched 1 inch!!! There is no bent looking places on the frame. It is like the frame was just stretched. Can I get this fixed somehow?

Odd problem. I've never really had issues with a frame being stretched. It might have suffered a slight impact that caused the other side to shrink an inch.

Honestly the only real way I know of to figure it out, would be to have a body shop look at it with a frame machine. Expensive I know. Or do measure by measure. Meaning something like "Front frame section to control arm mount.... Control arm mount to transmission cross member..... Transmission cross member to front spring mount..."

Trying to figure out what happened, why, and where. A bit of a mystery. But in reality?

If the truck runs and drives great. Why look for menace in the shadows? Enjoy the truck! If you're really bothered- Take it in for a full 4 wheel alignment and make sure the truck will track okay, and won't eat tires.

update

I took it by a body shop and they looked at it and told me that the frame had not been stretched. They said it had been diamoned. They explained that it is where 1 frame rail is pushed back and the other stays in place. They said it would cost about 250 bucks to fix.
