cover my air filter (K&N cone filter bolted right onto the MAF) and when i made a water passing it ate some water and stalled. i got it towed to a buddies house and got it started with some starter fluid, the intake was loaded with water

it turned over and started but it knocked like hell, i checked the oil and it was mud and water, i then changed the oil and oil filter, still knocks like a bitch

what could it be, a rod or maybe an open valve?

how screwed am i?

sounds like major bottom end damage. probably a bent or broken rod.

FYI, next time this happens, remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over by hand before you attempt to restart it. this will evacuate the water from the cylinders and could save you a motor.

+1

Liquid cannot be compressed. I'd say you have a bent connecting rod. Looks to me like your going to have to open her up and replace it. Shouldn't be to hard.

Get rid of that open K&N BS and get a stock air box back on there. From there build yourself a snorkel, or buy. Therefore this won't happen again. :D

main bearings my buddy did the same thing got sand in the oil ripped it to peices even after flushing the crank case out with kerosene many times

bent rods

bent rods is my guess, ive seen others make the same mistake''sorry''
