I got pulled over for what seems like the 500th time tonight.....long day at work then go to my shop and work on my new car dolly. im tired and want to go to bed.

but no.. the cops in my town are so bored they pull me over. . again. you would think they would all recognize my trucks by now.

He said "The exhuast caught my attention, then i saw that your license plate lights are out".

Upon inpsection when i got home i found that yes, only 1 plate light was out.

Never the less, i just got a warning.. but still irritating

thanks for letting me vent a little.

I've been stopped twice in the last 2 weeks, the first time the cop blatantly lied about my speed and I called his bluff, I got a warning.

And then last weekend he stopped me for a passenger that supposedly wasn't wearing a seatbelt when he was, they argued for about 5 minutes before the cop decided to FO...

It drives me nuts. there are NO bars in this town. so at night they will pull you over... then look for a reason for why they pulled you over.

I went through that kind of crap at college... except they would always give you a ticket (even if it was bs) and the local magistrate would uphold it. There's a reason why I didn't bother to finish my degree there and came home to finish it elsewhere...

Wish the cops around here would do something though... it's getting downright dangerous to be out on the roads around here with all of the idiots racing about.

My dad had a bad expeirence with a board local cop one night.

He and my mom were heading home from Syracuse, NY (my sister was in college at SU) over RT-9 in Vermont. It was about midnight and a local board cop pulled my dad over for doing ONE mph over!!! Then, since my dad has a CDL, he tried to pull the ol' "If I write this, I can fark up youir CDL for a while" bit.

The good news is that my dad knows the law pretty well, so he knew the cop had no clue. 1 mph is preety tricky to prove.

Granted, my parents owned a '94 Caddy STS at the time so the cop may have been thinking about a fat ticket to write or he was bored and had nothing better to do.

Morning Guys & Gals:

I agree with everything already said but keep ion mind with all the budget cuts EVERYBODY is feeling the sting and have to help out any way they can! I usually pull a travel trailer with a boat behind, here in Nv we need a ,"R" suppliment but the officers do not bother as a rule. My friend (a cop) stopped me last week and cautioned me to get my R because everybody was looking for something. I thanked him and needless to say piocked up the manual so I would be in compliance.

Well enough said you-all have a great week-end :) :) :)

HAAAA that is nothing!!!! Haaaaaa...my stupid niece was sitting around the house one night last summer. She was 19 then. She decided to go to their local drive thu Burger King since the stupid place is the only crap fast food place (only the drive thu is open late). She is just wearing a shorty tshirt and panties and no shoes. She gets her food and starts to head back home and a cop pulls her over. He said she was weaving too much!!! She was eating and driving. Well, the cop has her step out of the car and sees what she is wearing and freaks. He asked her for her driver's incense and she only brought cash with her for food. She has no purse or wallet. Well, she gets a citation to appear in court with her drivers license and has to pay a huge fee. The cop took photos of her as well. He could have hauled her cute butt to jail but did not.
Now....to make matters worse..... later thet same year she goes for a drive one Sunday with two girl friends and she has her head phones on and runs two stop signs!! Right in front of a cop!!!!! She did not pull over right away 'cause she could not hear the cop's siren and horn blowing at her. She did not see the cop in the rear view mirror as she was busy singing to Lady Ga Ga and tossing her stupid head around!!! That was one big ticket she had to pay, plus she had to go to traffic court!!!!!

The morrow of this story?
Just cause a girl is pretty doesn't mean she's smart!!!!!

i had a dick in the town where i live say i was doing 43 in a 30. i told him to write me the ticket because i had my gps on when i left my house and it said my max speed was 32. i wish he gave me a ticket because then i would have drove right up to the da's house and nailed his ass. once i had my little video camera in my truck and when i got pulled over i turned it on and set it on the dash. cop was being a real dick and i said it was for my own protection and legally he could not make me turn it off. he stomped back to his car and left so i had to go down to the station later and get my license and registration. in general i like cops except when theyre being dicks.

Its funny because i have my CCW and he didnt even ask if i was carrying. im not the kind of person to shoot someone, but there are people out there who are. He was a young guy and obviously wasnt conserned about... last time i got pulled over the cop had me shut the truck off and put my hands on the steering wheel. then asked if i had my handgun.. Im assuming that is normal procedure.

I've been driving almost 25 years and never had a ticket. It seems to me that after a quarter of a century and living in many states and several countries that if cops were generally assholes, I would know about it.

I'm sure the canine officer was terrified of your dog. After his .40s bounced of his kyptonite skull and he ate the police dog they would build a statue of him outside the state capitol.

I have a lifetime carry permit and I've not had a cop comment on it or ask if I was armed. Why would they care? I've never been a cop, but I was an embassy guard at an embassy with 4,000 people working in it and a huge amount of traffic through it. I worked a lot of the time in a blazer with a pancake holster and no badge. There were times when you had to use force, but mostly you be as respectful as you can be while watching as closely as you can watch. That defaults you to none of the problem and all of the solution. I suspect being a police officer is the same.

i just usually unroll the window and keep my hands on the door where they can see them cause i almost always have guns in the truck. i volunteer with the local fire department and all the cops i work with at their events dont bother me but all the other ones do.

when i get pulled over, its truck off, window down, and hands on the wheel at 11 and 1. speak with respect, and don't make excuses.

the 1 ticket i got, i deserved. it was life-changing. also got verbal warnings when i could have easily gotten a ticket.

but just like EVERY profession, a few bad apples can ruin the bunch. i once dated a cop's daughter. when the relationship ended, i got pulled over every time i entered city limits. he threatened to plant drugs in my truck, amongst other things. a lawyer put a quick, firm stop to that. years later, visiting after moving away, in a different rig, i got pulled over (different cop, random late night stop). after looking at my license, he said my last name sounded familiar. i said "i am the only person with my last name in at least a 500 mile radius, so whatever you are thinking of, its me"

he gave me a weird look, and sent me on my way with no further questions.

keep in mind a cop doesn't know if you are the pope, or a drugged out axe murderer when he/she walks up to your rig..

It's the same way with me, except I also flick the hazards and the dome light on as well.

I had a polite expereince with a NY State officer (Sullivan County deputy, if I recall) last August. He could've written me a legit $300 ticket, as I was doing 70 in a 55, but because I treated him with respect and honesty, he just let me go with a strong, but friendly "You WILL slow down, RIGHT??????"

treat them with respect and 9 time outta 10 they will let u walk...dont forget they have lots of paper work to do when they right someone up :D
