Howdy,
I'm just getting started on getting the new family addition on the road. It's basically for now just a replacement DD for the Mrs. as the Grand Wagoneer is hard on the gas budget and I want to pull my 69 Valiant off the road and do the V8 swap. I decided to upgrade (?) the 14" wheel combo up to 15x8 Soft Eights and 235/75-15s. I'm really avoiding the lustful call of the 31s. Well, at least for now.....

So, the brain cramp I'm having is with the whole leveling thing. I'm good with the spacers, might even pop for lift springs for the nose. I'm not even concerned about the camber bushings, I've been turning a wrench for over thirty some odd years. I just don't want to do something twice (okay, maybe four times). I have lost days on this board reading and enjoying the builds, the tech, the info and pics. Alas, I think I have info overloaded and have a question on this whole leveling thing before I pull the trigger on some parts.
I look at some stuff and think "Okie Dokie, let's do it". Then I read in the fitment section, usually in small letters and surprisingly, not in Cantonese, "Not for XLT/Extended cab". Well, it's a 1995 2.3 XLT extended cab. I'm not sure what the difference would be in items like the lift spacers, although I can understand the weight affect on lift springs. Can I cheat and just get parts for a V6 rig? Can I use Exploder V6 springs? Will TV reality shows ever be just a passing phase?

I'm interested in what your experiences are and what your advice would be. I've looked and looked, but haven't seen this directly addressed. Then again, I could just be over thinking the whole deal.....

I dont know alot but I did buy the rubber lift things never put them on. I bought a used 4" lift and am going to put it on instead. I think the rubber ones wont last very long. If you only want to do it once probably should buy a complete front end lift 4" is much cheaper than a 6". Then you could put explorer leaf springs on the back. It would be pretty close to level from what I have read. You would only need maybe an inch or so block to level it. This is from what I have read from on here. I will find out soon. You may want to check your spring hangers on the rear springs also they rot out quick. That way you could replace it all at once. If your only wanting to level it it is still going to cost you, springs or blocks, shocks or shock extension, camber bushings. If your going to take it all off may want to change bushings in the front end if they look bad or are having any steering type issues(noises). It seems to be the situation of I fixed all this then this wore out or broke. If you are going to level or lift I would wait on tires to see what will fit. :icon_confused:
Good luck with what ever you do. You will need to take pictures of truck before and after. :icon_thumby:

nice, I put a 3" body lift on mine but only have 235/75/15 tires. It looks like it needs bigger tires. I am waiting to put the 4" lift on because of the tires. I am rounding up some 31's when I get enough I will put the lift on. You should lift it 4". It look really nice now. :headbang:
