I have a 93 ranger.. i want to know if there is a way to make the high beams and low beams on at the same time when i turn the high beams on.. i know if when the low beams are on and you pull the blinker thing back it makes the high beams and low beams on at the same time.. if you understand what im talking about lol thanks Melvin...

^^ there has to be a way to do this with just the wiring. kinda like the fog light mod.

$95? Why would you spend that when you can spend $15 at Radio Shack (just guessing) on a relay and some wire and hook it up to supply 12 volts (fused) to the low beams using the high beam wire as your relay trigger?

Edit: Downey beat me to it, and he is exactly right. I've never looked at the fog light mod, but I know it's the same concept since fogs shut off when the high beams are on.

I spent 40 bucks at princess auto buying a pair of 100 watt offroad lights.

The lights on my truck are almost redundant when I turn on the 100 watt'ers. They light up the road like its daylight out to about 200 meters and you can see another 200 meters past that like it was the regular lights.

If you need to see farther then that you are going waaaaaaay too fast =>

i want to do this mod in my focus i need to figure it out so i can run my fogs, low beams, and high beams all at the same time. will make it nice for the back country roads i live on

There is a mod for the Fog Lights being on with the highs but I do not think there is one for the lows and highs on at the same time.

I am not sure if the housings/sockets will handle the heat of both filaments being on at the same time, especially if you increase the wattage of the lamps !?!?!?!?! May cause a fire.

The easiest/safest method and the most efficient method is to replace the bulbs with 65/100W units, replace the wiring to handle the extra load; make sure the new wiring has dual relays.
This will give the lights all the power they need and allow the 100w highs to burn their brightest.

Now that said, if you can locate the Head Light Relays (if there are such a thing) it would be an easy thing to determine the wires that actuate them and tie those wires together.

Luck,

I've driven out in the country pulling back on the stalk for an hour to keep both highs and lows on and had no problems with my housings. Highs don't light up the sides of the roads where deer like to camp out waiting for unsuspecting cars and small trucks to pass.

I do it for safety and being able to see what is out there on the road surface, not because I'm doing 130 mph in my Ranger.
