This is my issue. 1998 2wd 4.0 - When the engine is cold the truck seems fine with good acceleration but as soon as it warms up it stutters and I have to feather the throttle and can barely get up to speed in town. I ran the codes and it said continuous misfire 3and 4 plus Vehicle Speed Sensor. I cleaned the Maf and it runs better but still chokes when it warms up, would the speed sensor cause this? It does affect the shifting, also I hear a clicking noise in front of me when braking but I only hear it when its running bad. The Cel is on, and a couple of weeks back the abs light came on, but it hasn't come back on since. It's weird because I was really low on fuel at the time and that light never came on but the abs did.

I would like to thank the community for not helping

Thanks a lot for not replying to my posting. But I will explain what I did anyways to help someone that might have the same problems. Like I said I had ran the codes and one of them said the speed sensor had a problem, I replaced it and no dice. I fixed the misfire codes by replacing the spark plugs for the second time in a month. So it turns out the clicking i hear is the ABS under the hood. Someone posted on the serious explorations site that this may be the rear brakes, I checked them and they should be replaced, they arent that bad, but I will replace and let you know what happens. Platinum Plugs Suck, I put them in about a month ago and they lasted about 3 or 4 days before the misfire came back. They were autolites, I replaced with the cheap Autolite 103 copper plugs and still going.

I had a similar problem, it was the oxygen sensor.
