Hello fellas, i have a question... Will a engine from a 2002 explorer fit my 1999 Ranger?? just direct swap? or needs modifications? their both 4.0L.. I tried searching but no luck..


BTW the Ranger is auto trans and 4x4..

Fit? Yes... but they are different engines. Lots of harness and other changes will be needed. Everything is different between the two engines. It isn't an easy swap.

I agree do some research you definitely will have to change wiring, ecm... it's a big project good luck!
