Hey guys, I have a simple problem with my ignition switch... my "accessories" position doesn't seem to work. Whenever I turn off the engine EVERYTHING goes off. I WANT MY RADIO TO STAY ON!!! It's been like this ever since I purchased the truck, I just didn't notice it at first. With that being said, the dealer won't help me at all.

My "On" position works fine; air conditioning comes on, radio comes on, and gauges come on.

My "Start" position also works fine because my engine starts up fine.

Could it be as simple as a bad contact or something?

In fact, when I jiggle the key in the "Accessory" position, sometimes the radio will turn on, other times the radio and AC come on. I would like to fix this to where the radio ONLY turns on, nothing else, and I would like it to ALWAYS come on whenever I put the damn thing in the "Accessory" postion, not just when I jiggle it forever!!!

Thanks for any help you can give me:icon_thumby:

just to be sure... you are turning the key all the way backwards, past the off position? i know some cars are setup so they are off-acc-run-start, but my truck is acc-off-run-start

I'm going to feel really dumb if that is true, h/o I'll be right back...

Yeah, I'm an idiot... :idiot: this is the first time I've dealt with a Ford though... I never knew you could go the other direction...

This still doesn't explain why, at some times, the radio will come on in that first position, the one I THOUGHT was the Accessory position.

THANKS BTW!

yeah, it took me a while to get used to my car after driving my truck for so long. glad you figured it out.
