Spent my day packing up my shop and getting everything ready to move to our new house....what a pain!

Into this to store it till we get settled into the new place

7x12 enclosed trailer....might just be over the 2500 lbs weight limit...whoops!

I feel for you, and I don't have as much stuff as you. Hopefully the distance between moves isn't too bad for you.

It was horrible when we moved into our house. Now I've got another 9 years of stuff to add to that headache. My plan is to make the next move my last rodeo.

yep I feel your pain.

in 2008 I moved from IL to IN for a new job, as IL is teh suck when it comes to jobs...Packed up a 4 bedroom house with a large single car garage into a 2 bedroom apartment with no garage. ended up getting a storage shed for most of the stuff that wouldn't fit in the apartment.

I consolidated most of my hand tools into a top chest of a craftsman rollaway and few small toolboxes. All the bulky items went into storage.

We rented a garage a few years later where I was able to bring some of the tools over from storage.

then we moved again in 2011 and I filled a 16 foot dually van with stuff from the storage shed alone. I at least now have a place for my workbench, air compressor, table saw, 12" miter/chop saw and other larger tools.

And I would love to have your 20 x 24 garage right now :)

Don't know what's worse/better...moving or a fire. We hauled the fam circus from West Tx. to NE Miss. last August for work, and I still can't find all my stuff. I think it goes to the Karma dimension...kinda like socks in the dryer.

I moved last October. I said at that time "I'll never move again". The garage was the hardest part. Once I started packing stuff I was surprised at how much there was.

Hope your new garage is better than your old one. I'd love to have a big shop like that to work out of.

I hear ya man.

I have two babies and a wife on permanent disability. MOVING SUCKS.

I hear ya! Im moving 25 miles away a week from now. Two bedroom house and a two car garage full. It took me a few hours just to get all the stuff out of the rafters.
Someone mentioned a fire. I had my 4 bedroom house burn to the ground 6 years ago. Nothing was saved except the Harley that my Wife and I were on when it burned. Kids were safe and that was all I cared about. I still catch myself looking for stuff that I lost in that fire. I think I miss the 15 guns I lost the most.

I told the wife that I am never moving again after the last one.

The whole house is made of cinder block, footer to ceiling joist. The only things that aren't cement are the floors, ceilings, doors, and dry wall. If we ever feel that much of a need to start over I'll light the sucker up and lay out a new floor plan.

That plan is helped by the fact that we don't actually have any structurally critical interior walls. The whole ceiling is hung off the rafters.

Oh we are only moving about 3 blocks is the good part haha. I wouldn't want to haul that poor trailer any distance with that load in it.

New place has a double attached garage and a single detached garage but I will be building myself at least a 30x30 next spring. Main reason we moved was for the property...we wanted some space and not to be in a subdivision anymore. We bought a 1700sq ft rancher on 1.2 acres.

That cinder block sounds like the tops of open concept living. I wish I could find work back home in the dry desert country...adobe houses, evap coolers and laid-back folks. These SEC people down here are wound TOO TIGHT.
Which reminds me...If you want to catch a good movie, look for "Things We Lost in the Fire" with Halle Berry and B. DelToro and Fox Mulder. Highly recommended, even if you've never experienced a fire first-hand.

Moved a couple heavier items tonight....
