I got a new tow rig

I traded my RV for this yesterday. Needs some work (brakes, heater core, lots of cleaning, tailgate, receiver hitch, tires, etc...) but it runs and drives pretty well. Has a stock 460, T19, and 208. Can't wait to get the brakes fixed so I can drive it. Good thing I have my 4 cylinder Ranger, 'cuz I think putting gas in this thing would kill me.

I love that bodystyle.

If anything happens to my F-150 I will replace it as a DD with a Mustang, and get a 80-82 F-350 SRW std cab longbox 4x4 w/ a 400 for a tow pig/winter warrior.

There was exactly what you want on craigslist a while back, and out your way too. Almost considered driving out and picking it up.

It is my favorite body style too. I almost traded off on a '78 Chevy K20 with a 350/TH400 a few days before I found this one but I'm glad I didn't. This is 12 times the truck the Chevy would have been.

18' car trailer. My F150 did alright but the 302 in that just didn't have the torque to keep up with the hills around here. It is definitely a heavy bastard!

Meh, already have two lifted RBVs and the trails I run are way too tight for most fullsize rigs. If I was into mud at all (hate it) I'd probably consider it.

Dude you should see the gooseneck plate in mine. It is like a 1" thick piece of steel welded across the top of the frame. I was going to remove it until I saw exactly what it was, now I am just going to take the ball out...

I got a lot of work done tonight. Picked up a class 5 receiver hitch and a toolbox at the junkyard for $50 and installed that, fixed the brake lights and blinkers, and a bunch of other small stuff. Turns out the heater core the PO bought for it is the wrong size or I would have had that done too. I think I can fix the brakes if I bleed them. Hoping that's case, otherwise I'm buying a new master cylinder and booster.
 
Got a tail gate, new wheels and rubbers! Major changes. Also took off the ass ugly orange company name on the side, fixed a LOT of minor issues and did the front brakes. Should be ordering patch panels for the cab soon and doing a nice dark blue Rustoleum paint job shortly after.
