My Grandpa and his brother had a dairy farm in northern Wisconsin for decades. they had both the real deal and the frozen pop method of cow servicing. for the most part, they would do their own servicing when the bull was not able or available. I remember the specimens were in a container of liquid nitrogen, hence the frozen pop method.AI is very common for livestock, especially dairy. Either a vet or the farmer/rancher does the deed.
Easier/cheaper for some to just buy what they need than to buy the whole prize winning bull/boar/stallion that they will have to sell again in a few years.
My aunt (his youngest daughter) always named the bulls after fast food restaurants. his brother was not amused lol
