:bawling:tranny quite. small metal ting.and nothing went for one small rip nothing harsh . parked it started it yesterday . nothing opened cooler lines nothing what have i done? its a c4 /c5 would to much fluid do this ????????? its a mid 70s car c4 redone two years ago .very low miles. put the tail shaft out of a old c5 . took my time very sure things are back in there place stumped and depressed

i swapped a v8 in to my ranger i took a new c4 and added a c5 tail shaft went for a short drive no burnouts or any thing . parked my truck went to go for a drive started it and a small metal ting (SOUND) came from my truck and now the tranny do not work. i split the cooling lines and no fluid when running .

fluid should be flowing through the lines at all times when the engine is running. i wonder if you have a pump issue...

i feel your pain, just rebuilt my c4 put it back in and i think i have a converter seal leak.

sounds like the ears on the pump sheared.........

Not to be a insulting but sounds like you may have miss stabbed the converter which in turn ate the pump up or broke the pump gears.

would a way over filled tranny react like this? grasping at straws

Over filled wont do that..about the worst thing an over filled tranny will do is dump the fluid out the breather hose when it gets warmed up.

when I overfilled my a4ld it blew the gears one by one starting with O/D and ending with first in order and very noticably. loud pop/bang with each loss. not wht you described.

its all coming out ! tranny going to shop next monday. ill post my mistake when i find out what i did.

In my case I just bought a b2 with a v8 and c4, the second time I drove it the tranny quit. it makes a howling sound then just stops working but if I shut it off and let it sit then it works again, only long enough to get on and off the trailer. So far the main issue is the complete lack of kickdown linkage, if improperly adjusted(or missing) most auto will fry in a hurry. you may have the same problem, if not just something to check when you get it going again.

Sounds like a pump to me. If the pump was working then when you pulled the cooler lines off it should have started bleeding everywhere. Good luck man.
