I bought a ch...che...chev... I can't say it!

More power to ya.

If you can drive it for a few months, sell it for more than you owe, and manage the payments in the meantime, then rock on.

Chevy boy :thefinger:

Nice find! No chevy hating here. Looks like an incredible rig for the price.

While I do say "boooooooo!" to the fact it's a Classic Hutterite Escape Vehicle, I will say that all the power to ya, and it's a steal at that price, 'specially with a camper! And if you can turn profit, sweet. That's the only reason I traded a dirt bike for a '71 Toyota.

+1 one to that!

They can be nice trucks. I've driven a friend's '03 1500 a few times. They have a nice ride, but there's electrical issues with the "toys" like the power windows, on them.

If you really want to have some fun, buy the Edge tuner. The extreme will have you shooting past ricers in ablack cloud of smoke(that's a good thing!) all the way to econ. which will have you at 22 MPG.

My brother has all the goodies on his 2005 model.

In this case, I must say Duramax is better than the powerstroke.

For a pretty penny, yours could look AND perform like this:

Drool....

Must think Ford, Must think Ford...

Nice buy. I'm not a big Chevy fan, but they do make a nice truck. My grandpa has an 01 1500 5.3L and I must say, it is a very nice truck. I'm not a fan of the body lines or interior styling, but it rides smooth and quite, has lots of power, and makes a nice tow vehicle. I'd probably drive it if he died tomorrow.

I will stick with the Ranger for now though.

Ha!:icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

If you only knew how much he spent on all his "upgrades"!

35" tires on 18" rims
7" suspension lift
Edge Juice performance modual
gauges for every little thing
5" exhaust with a muffler delete(sounds like an angry MACK truck! Awesome!)
4" CAI

the list goes on.............

Try to match it and your wife would kill you when you get the credit card bill..............

But the one you have is prime for economy upgrades. I believe after 2006 (or 2007), the emissions garbage got perminately hardwired into the engine and electronics of the Duramaxes, ei, poor gas mileage and big $$$ for power adders.

So I keep records of all the fill ups on every vehicle I own. Here is the rundown.

Ford Ranger Bought in 2006, Kept until 2008 AVG MPG 15.7940617

My F-250 Bought in June of 2005, Kept until 2008 AVG MPG 11.84552282

Bronco II Bought in January of 2001-to Current AVG MPG 19.74130191

Sport Trac Bought Jan of 2009 to Current AVG MPG 14.86838722

Silverado, I have put in two tanks of diesel so far, both have had some towing on them AVG MPG 17.62733398

Even with towing this huge truck still gets far better MPG than anything I own with the exception of the B2. I can imagine running it on the highway the full tank. I wonder what would happen with a programmer!

why wonder.... do it and:rockon:

looks like a good deal to me. i also have a g.m. in the drive now, retired the wife's '93 taurus for a '97 S-blazer. was my dads. it was free, (he bought a bank repo'ed '03 S-blazer at a auction for 5K) but ive had to do alot with it, has 169,000 on it, a better tow rig than the taurus. i tried it with my trailer, gets up to speed better, but the brakes on the ranger stop the rig much better than the chevy.

How does it compare with the cost of fuel figured in? Last I checked diesel was more expensive than gas.

as long as it isnt chinese, japanese, manganese or any other kind of 'nese', i dont care what it is as long as it's American.....f*ck yeah
