Hey guys, I havent been on for a while. Landed a new job and been working alot. In the past weeks I bought a 2000 chevy silverado 4x4:blush: with the 5.3 with 117,000 miles. I paid 6,000 bucks for it. I love it so far.

I also scrapped both my mazdas. One had a blown rear end and the other i drowned in a pond. It was their time to go. I guess im saying i wont be around anymore i guess cause i no longer have a ranger. Maybe drop in and cause some drama time to time. nah j/k. So im ready and let me have it for buying a chevy.:taunt:

Those are nice trucks. Lets see a picture of that pig. Ive always loved silverados, and had a 1999 zr2 blazer which ran like a champ, the 4.3l had balls. brand name doesnt really mean much unless it says KIA or something like that. And its still a pickup, I respect that. Congrats. Hope to see you back here when your guilt is too much to handle.lol

Gone to the darkside he has.

I especially like the 'autotrac' system they use. Push the auto4wd button in the winter and forget about it.

Hey, I'm still around and I sold my Ranger. At least you still have a nice driving four wheel drive TRUCK. I bought an '01 PT Cruiser to replace my Ranger. Those Chevy trucks are quite dependable. Almost everyone I work with owns one, or have owned one. Just make sure to check the front end (lift from the lower control arm), and make sure everything is tight, I've had 3 in the last 2 days where the ball joints have nearly been at or passed the point where a big bump and they would have separated.

ive always been a big fan of the chevy. more twards the 88-98 with the 5.7 rather but either way is better than a full size ford or dodge.

I might end up getting Heather a Silverado and keeping her Ranger.

It would be easier for her to drive in the snow and stuff, plus then I could use it and have a fullsize. She only commutes 4-5 miles aday as opposed to my 40.

My parents '02 Explorer has the automatic 4x4 too, may be a little more practical for her too. You can lock it in 4hi or 4lo like the Silverado as well.

I do like the Silverados, but I think you get more truck with the Ford... hence why I got one. I do much prefer the 99-07? interier much better than my F-150's though. About every other 99-02 truck around here has rust over the wheel wells, and are still worth more $$ than a cherry Ford.

true fords are the dark side he has gone to the bright? good side? ehh whatever... im sticking to my rbv's!

I like the Ford's a little better. Simplier seems to be better. Chevy offers more, and usually that more breaks down. My family has 2x GM vehicles and 1x Ford (mine), and its always the Ford Ranger to the rescue. I like the Ranger more than the full-size trucks. Found this out yesterday while squrriel hunting, because of the Ranger size and tight turn radius, I was able to sqeeze through tight tree turns where a full-size truck would have been wedged. Also for a truck that is ext cab, it can really flex its stuff over dirt mounds where it could have been easily bottomed out.

As for the 4x4 of the GM. I really do like. Push button 4x4 on the Blazer is easy and can be done at any speed at anytime. I believe Ford offers something like that now. Sometimes always automatic and not capable of 4low.
