Well ive been driving this more recently, i redid the throttle linkage again and im now able to get full throttle, and i pulled plugs and noticed they are not covered in oil but im burning very lean so the factory injectors cant output enough fuel, and my butt dyno guestimations feel like im making more power than a 4.0 ohv, it revs out to 6k happily and im actually able to do 70+ mph and not floorboard it while driving into a 40+mph headwind. But with all this im now noticing that my clutch is beginning to slip with the colder air weve been getting so thats fun

Welp the 260k miles and 38 years of abuse to this 2.9 has finally caught up to it, i already had an issue with oil consumption but now she has begun to knock under light load it is very noticeable, and i cant be too mad honestly, ive put over 40k miles of hard driving on it and its never left me stranded apart from one time where the ignition module and coil died at the same time. But now i need to get one of the spare 2.9s i have machined and rebuilt so thats not going to be fun to find a machine shop to do it
