I-beam/axle to frame clearance

I’m currently trying to figure out if my coil/leaf springs are worn/blown out or if I just need shocks.
the question I have is this: What is the clearance between the I-beam/axle and frame rough measurement.
It rides pretty rough, so I know I need shocks. However, I haven’t had a ranger before. So I don’t know by looking at it if it’s sagging or if it’s supposed to sit that low.

I don't have a measurement for you. But... if it's sagging, that's old springs. Shocks don't carry vehicle weight. (Unless you have struts or coilovers) They dampen or slow down movement between axle and frame to control ride quality.

The main problem is that I don’t know if it’s sagging or not. I’ve driven either lifted full size trucks or civics my whole life.

6 different choices RC or SC and 6' or 7' box; aforementioned * 2 (2wd versus 4wd) for exact numbers:

From 1997 Body Builders Book:

2wd RC top of front bumper with 195/70R14 (base tire) should be 24.8"​

2wd RC top of front bumper with 225/70R15 (heavy duty payload tire) should be 25.8"​

4wd RC top of front bumper with 215/75R15 (base tire) should be 26.7"​

4wd RC top of front bumper with 265/75R15 (off road tire) should be 28.3"​

I know the front is sagging now. Thank you. Not fixing anything until the truck saves its cost in gas. Once that’s done I’ll fix things.
