actually i think thats kinda cool.....and is he really getting 64.7 mpg??? and you think he is an idiot? i think he is a genius if he is really getting that kind of milage......incredible, even if they do look kinda stupid....

Oh mother of god! Those close ups are hideous!! My 6 year old sister could pop rivet and bondo those edges better than the what looks like silicon caulk as "glue" All i have to say is, if i saw that on the road...:icon_confused::icon_surprised::taunt: and then right back to my coffee on the way to work:c-n:

Edit: BUT! he is headed in the right direction...practice makes perfect right? I have been tossing some ideas around in the noggin involving a 600CC R honda bike engine and a jet cockpit style body

well I guess if thats what floats yer boat go for it. . . . .. . . . . me . . . . not so much.

so who gonna be the first to do their RBV like that? (j/k guys I know we have our trucks not for fuel economy by for a real purpose like hualin stuff) leave the shtuff for the ricers.

If you read further down he claims 90mpg from 30 ot 60 mph. I wonder if that is true.....

Like nate said, the body work is horrible.

after searching the sight i saw some better examples of bodywork....i always wanted to do an electric vehicle....now i just might have too!

Ya know, if he actually did some decent body work and made everything smooth he'd probably get another 2-3 mpg. That body work has to be the worst I've ever seen, I think my 9 year old cousin could do better blind.

90 mpg? You couldn't achieve that if you were going downhill with the engine shut off, okay, maybe if it was a biiiiig hill. There isn't enough wind resistance to up your mpg by 60 when going 30 mile an hour, sorry but I don't see it as being capable, maybe if it was a golf cart......

I can't even mention a word about the "body work".....

I would be so embarrassed to drive that POS I think I would have to wear a ski mask when I drove it.

While that tail might make SOME difference (it's definitely an overlooked bit of body flow), I really don't buy that those nasty wheel covers do a damn thing. Too many sharp edges and flat surfaces. And 90 MPG? That's just too much crack. No way. It's HIGHLY exaggerated.

I used to sell parts and make some one off stuff for a lot of colleges who built Formula SAE cars. These were road race cars with 600 engines in them. At one point everyone used CBR600 engines. Sometimes they built enclosed cockpits, here is a pic of an open cockpit one I found

its got to be way too heavy.the only way to pull it off would be woven fiberglass, carbon fiber and foam.i still woulden't want to be seen in it though.

I've seen my Ranger top 105mpg coasting down a hill on my commute at 60mph. Of course, I'm losing speed do to the brick-like aerodynamics. That Civic as less drag than a Prius, and likely many sports cars.
And don't overlook technique. Most of the posters on those boards were beating EPA estimates before modding. There is a guy over at cleanmpg.com who averages 38mpg with a stock Ranger(2wd, 5spd, 4cyl.).
