The Ranger name goes way back with Ford. The 1958 Edsel had four trim levels: Ranger, Pacer, Corsair and Citation. I think Ford stuck with the Ranger designation through all three years of the Edsel ('60 being the last).

Of course Ranger is the best of the four, as the Chevy Citation was basically a piece of junk and the AMC Pacer is a cult car at best.

my old F-150 was Ranger trim i dont have that anymore but i do have the maunual for it still.
