every 2.9 or 4.0 engine I've ever seen that was hydrolocked provided a "souvineer"
on disassembly.
The clearances in those engines are rather tight and it doesn't take a whole lot of water to bend the rods sufficiently to make the crank counterweight hit the underside of the wrist pin boss.
After that there isn't much you can do with it.
