I have a 1993 ford ranger xlt. Yesterday I had a very time getting the clutch to release. When I checked the fluid for the clutch master cylinder it was empty. I filled it up and noticed it dripping out on the ground around the bell housing area. I can fill it up and it runs right out. What do I have to do to stop it from leaking? If it is the line itself or some sort of seal at the transmission end of the line does the transmission have to be removed to replace it or the seal on the end of the line?:dunno:

Unfortunately it's probably the slave cylinder, and you have to remove the trans to fix. I don't know if the quick connect can leak or if it's fixable but it's worth a close look before ripping the trans out.
Good luck,

Richard

thanks for the info. i'll be sure and look over the line really good before pulling the trans.

The quick connect does have a small o-ring in it that could fail and leak, but I have seen one hundred slaves go bad to no spontaneous failures of that o-ring.
