I have a 95 Ranger with a M50d and I put a full length center console out of an Exploder in it. I have been looking into getting a Hurst Shifter for it, but I don't know if it will fit with out hitting the console in 2nd, 4th, and reverse. Does anybody have a Hurst shifter in a Ranger with a full length console?

Hurst is PERFECT in a full length......even bodylifted it's perfect. Both points cannot be said about a stock shifter. I did it at one point, but have no pics.

My stock shifter is about a 1/4" from hitting in 2nd, 4th, and reverse. If I shift fast sometimes it hits a little.

Even bodylifted with the hurst and an extention to amke the hurst comfortable, I came at closest maybe 3/4" away from hitting the expo console.

i have the full-length console and a hurst. no problems.

my bad, i thought mine was considered a full-length console. but i do think a hurst would still work if the stock shifter does.

I just wasn's sure.
In this pic, its in 4th and the shifter is about 1/4" away and if I pull back it will touch the edge of the opening

Does the hurst shifter end up putting the knob in the same place? I would really like it to be a couple inches closer to me. I was going to bend my stock one back a little, but then it would make my front cup holder useless. I can only put cans in it as it is.

Is that the stock armrest cover or did you find an after market one somewhere? The only covers I can find are leather ones for 50 bucks. I recovered mine in some random blue vinyl but it doesnt look so good where it wraps around the front.

There's not much you can do to the stock shifter really....it's thick and multilayered. The hurst puts the ball a little lower and little farther away from you. Most find it a little uncomfortable, including me. Best bet is to either make an extention out of 1/4" flatbar to get the ball right where you want it. OR...Hurst has a crapton of arms that fit the 7/8" on-center arm mounting base. Check out Hurst's replacement parts catalog on their website. On Ranger-Forums, there's a Hurst Revision how-to tech artical and gives the part number for the longer arm. Not only is the arm longer, making the ball closer to you, but where the arm bends back towards you is located taller/higher up the arm, which will in turn help clear the expo console even better.

That's not my console....I've got a manual truck. lol. I just ripped the pic from a dude over at RF.
