Bought a 2001 Ford Ranger in 2003 and the bed was all scratched up. Bought Herculiner at Menards for $60. First, time I had used the product and after 2 coats and using both rollers had half the product still left. Learned next time just coat it on really thick.
Anyway, was happy with the product. Problem was 2 years later the UV ate the polyurethane. Ended up just apply another application of product. Still happy but UV still eats polyurethane.
Traded off 2001 for new 2008. Line-X $465, Herculiner $85. Can't justify rediculous cost of Line-X.
My question is I see Herculiner has a UV topcoat protection for $20 has anyone used it and did it solve the UV eating the polyurethane problem?
