hunting idle but very odd

drives a stick shift ranger
the truck started a hunting idle yesterday, but only once its been idling a little bit and it comes and goes. its not a normal hunting idle that does it at idle all the time when warmed up so i suppose i am going to be checking for vacuum leaks first. and no check lights, which is fine.
 
i will check those out.
 
While you are at it, clean the mass Air Flow sensor and the Throttle body. Amazon has the CRC two-pack
CRC MAF & Throttle Body Single-Use Twin Pack, 1 Kit
Use the specific cleaner for the specific part.
As Rusty mentioned, the Idle Air Control valve may be faulty. Found a great video here:
