Hey I'm Mike. I recently got my first pick up truck, it's a 91ranger 2.3 4x4 5 speed. Been lurking here for a few weeks before getting the truck, found some good info. I plan on bringing the maintenance up to date, maybe swap in another rear and/or mess with gearing, and upgrading the brakes.

2.3s definitely like their gear. I swapped tires from the stock 215-70R14 to 30-9.5R15 on my old truck and couldn't really use 5th gear anymore. Well except for on the interstate.

Just don't forget to keep both axles with the same ratio.
