Hi gang. I'm picking up a 94 Ranger tomorrow that I bought for a song. The truck needs a new head gasket as well as general maintenance and clean up. It has the 2.3 and a 5 speed. I'll be surfing this sight looking for tips and tricks on how to get this little guy back on the road. I look forward to learning from you guys.

Welcome to TRS~!

head gaskets are easy enough...I would have a shop test the head for cracks just in case there was an over heat problem...

Many tips and tricks to be had on here but most of them are dependent on issues popping up...

My personal best tip would be to check the frame carefully for rust...strip it down and coat it with something to protect it...other than that...keep an eye on the coolant level and oil...with one out the back mirror watching for smoke trails...:)

The engines are tough and will give you good fuel economy but sensitive to heat and with enough miles become oiling machines for pink lungs...
