Howdy folks! So, today I scored a completely, 100% FREE 87 Ranger extended cab off Craigslist. I figure I'm likely to need some Ranger specific help, so I figured I should sign up and introduce myself.
My name is Pearson, and live in Richmond, VA. Can guy through and through, with a reasonable amount of mechanical ability. If you're interested in the story of how I managed to score a free Ranger, the story is right here:

I previously owned an 83 F100, so I'm not a complete noob (not that they have much in common, but it IS a Ford truck.) I traded that truck to a farmer of a non-running 1969 Scout, which is now my fair weather daily driver
Anyway, the Ranger has over 200k miles on it, but got a new transmission and clutch last year. Runs and drives fine, and aside from a few dents, is in reasonably good shape. It was free because while it runs and drives, it likes to stall in neutral, and the farmer who owned it said it was too good to scrap, but not worth it to him to pay to have it fixed. So, I guess first order of business will be to resolve the stalling issue. I understand that this isn't terribly uncommon, and that usually either the TPS, MAP or IACV are to blame. I'll start by cleaning those guys up tonight as well as a full fluids change and a dose of seafoam. Anything else i should do from the get go?
