will a 33 x 12.5 15 mud terrain work on the stock fx4 alcoa rims???

the 15 inch alcoa rims that come stock on the fx4/II are 15 by 8 correct? will it hold a 12.5 inch wide tire. i seem to think that people run this width of tires on 8 inch rims on their jeep rubis.

They are 7in. And that's how I got mine, their previous owner went to a 33x12.5r15 and he couldn't run the Alcoas. Sorry for the bad news. The Super Swamper LTB comes in a 34x10.5r15 IIRC they recomend a 8in wheel but they might work for you. Good luck

i am currently running 265 70 16 on my stock 01 edge rim. so i am assuming that 31x10.5 15 tires would fit on the 7inch alcoa rims correct. i believe these two tires above are very close in size.

you can run a 12.50 tire on a 7inch rim wit out any ill effect IMO.

if the back space will allow the rim to work on your truck wiht a 33 I dont know. never goten in to the A arm rangers.

thanks thats the response i got on the jeep forum as well. i do believe there might be a small rub with the 33 tires with the tbars at stock height. i am not sure about the tbars cranked though.

is there anyone running 33 12.5 on there fx4 ranger on this forum?

with the 15x7 and 4.5 backspacing of ALL of the factory rims you will rub a good deal with a 12.5" wide tire even with a lift. You would either want to get wheel spacers or get rims with the correct backspacing to push things out some, usually a 15x8 with a 3.75 BS is a pretty good combo to fit right.

That's the OEM tire size (31x10.5r15)on the FX4. The Alcoas come with 31x10.5 r15 BFG AT TAKOs. The sizes are the same +/- little bits between manufactures. Also 265/75r15 is the same.

i am possibly looking to order an 09 ranger fx4. i want to get the 15 dsg alcoa rims and some mud terrain tires to go with the truck.

where would the 12.5 inch tires rub? on the inside of the wheel well, the top of the well or on the front bumper while turning or a combo? eventually i want to get the camburg 6.0 lift but that would be a few years down the road. still have not decided on a color yet.

I run 32x11.5-15 MT tires on stock Alcoa wheels with no problem. I use them primarily for off-road and have no rubbing issues.

That second pic looks my truck when I bought it.

after dealing with both in person a 33x12.5 is actually a LOT larger than a 32x11.5 when crammed into a wheel well with a high BS like that. Usually it will rub on the bumper, the rear of the front fender where the mudflap is, and it likes to rub on the frame just behind the front tire. I was rubbing quite bad with just a 285/75/16 on the factory 16x7 rims and that was WITH a 3" bodylift. The biggest problem is the rubbing on the frame because it kills your turning radius.
