i have the radio i want picked out. now it doesnt have an out for a sub. it does have extra speaker lines. now can i run the sub off one of those. now is there a device i can put after the speaker line to convert it so it will work with the subwoofer. basically to sum it up i want to put a subwoofer in my truck or two of them with a head unit that is not made for a subwoofer

so if i get that, do i run my my rca wires into it and it will convert it that i can hook a subwoofer up to it?

There should be RCA outputs on the HU. You run RCA cables from that to an amplifier, then from the amplifier to the subwoofer. If there isn't RCA outputs on the HU then you need a line converter.

Your RCA's hook into the line converter and the line converter gets wired to your rear speaker channels.

are you running an amp or just having subs as speakers,
