How To Tell if an Axle is an 8.8?

My Friend Is swapping his Axle for an 8.8 Axle with 4.10 gearing. He Said he already had an 8.8 axle but hes not entirely 100% sure, So how do I tell if it is an 8.8? If it is he is going to sell me the axle for 50$!!

8.8 diff cover is more squarish looking, 7.5 is more oval
