98 ranger, no AC. i'm trying to get the blower motor housing off, there are 3 visible nuts in the engine bay which i removed, but the housing was still holding on.... pulled the plastic inside the wheel well back, and i can see another bolt holding the housing on from the bottom, but it's a carriage bolt facing into the cabin! can't figure out where the other side of it is, is it behind the air ducts in the passenger footwell? how do you get at it??

On my 97 it has something like a foam adheasive tape that goes all the way around to seal it I'm guessing, I had to use a crowbar to get mine off. But you should be able to see it between the blower housing and firewall

pretty sure there is another bolt, at least it looks like one. if it's taped on, it's remarkably strong.. i just can't see how to get it out, looks like it's in next to the heater core someplace..

the fourth "bolt" is (actually a nut) near where you are looking, it IS accessable in the passenger side footwell. On my '01 Cab (rolled truck I bought for parts) it is 4" to the left of the fuel impact cutoff switch.

Look for an 11mm nut with a 1" diameter washer, typically bright Zinc plated.
