ok guys i cant get this off to save my life is there a trick to getting a socket and u-joint adapter in there? r am i gonna have to drop the front end?

Gear wrenches. That was the way I did mine when I dropped a new motor in. You can buy just one of these wrenches at most NAPA stores. Put her in there and break it loose.

I used to work for autozone and I know they carry a Duralast version of Gear wrench, and it will break as soon as you put torque on it. Spend 2 more dollars and get the Gear Wrench brand. Sears might carry them individually as well, but I work for NAPA now so I recommend them. The Flex head kind also make it easier.

Yeah dude ratcheting wrench, from the passenger side fenderwell. If you remove the plastic splash shield it makes it a lot easier. :icon_thumby:

(A regluar wrench will work, but it's a PITA)

The first time I dropped the i-beam on that side to get access. Second time I used a 3/8" socket w/ u-joint, variations of extensions. Also installed AA V-8 adapter plates with everything intact. PITA.

Pain the butt, but like said above, U-joints, assorted extensions and wobble extensions. I hope to never ever do it again...

Don't use a universal at all.

You can get a socket and straight extension on it by simple routing the extension between the exhaust manifold and head before you put the socket on the extension

I use an 18" extension and turn it with an impact gun.
