I have a 97 stick xlt 2.3 with 155k miles. I'm looking to add about 50 HP or just raise it to 200hp overall if thats do-able. So what are mods I can do to achieve this goal? Thank you

turbo or nitrous are about your only options to get to 200hp somewhat easily, you'll need forged pistons but other than that it can remain fairly stock other than bigger injectors and a custom tune...

Zip ties look up throttle cable mod it will feel like you just got 50 HP other than that intake exhaust chip and 4.11 rear end would make things more fun

302!
if you want to keep the 4 cyl the only option is forced induction.

The throttle cable mod does not add horsepower it just recovers the lost hp from the slack throttle cable.

Need more power...Scottie!!

Do an Advanced Search on 2.3L modifications. I'm sure you'll find the link to a guy who builds performance 2.3L engines and lots of information regarding performance modifications to improve hp output. A buildable engine, but as noted here, forced induction. I believe the best option he suggests is a turbo.
