How to fix code 522

94 4.0 Ranger 5 speed. I am having the code that the truck is in gear. The trans does not have the switch on the trans nor anywhere to install one. How do I fool the computer to think the senors is there? Ground the connector out? Or do I need to hold the clutch in while running the test? I can not get the KOER to run codes I am guessing because this code will not clear.

Holding the clutch in won't help. You need to find the two-prong female plug that would go to the transmission switch. I would guess it's hanging in the vicinity of the left side of your trans, unless somebody cut it off or something.

Use a paper clip or the like to jumper across the plug terminals. This will make the PCM think you're in Neutral.
