good for you.......one notch on your belt.
i havent said much due to not having your gen truck but i learned some too
how ever on the sound deadener, to keep cost down, you can try putting some just were the sub sits, and it will help.
for good customers even tho they dont pay for it i try and hook them up.
ie lets say the box is 12x12x12, ill take 3,4, or 6 inch strips and and split the difference on the foot print of the sub, ( for 6 inches, there is 3 inches under the sub and 3 inches sticking out past the sub) i do that for the floor "foot print" and the back wall "footprint" (if app) it will cut out alot of raddling and its alot cheaper the covering your whole floor, kinda stops it at the source
think i could just do the entire back shelf?
the surface where the subs/amp would sit.. and also go down until you get to the main floor of the cab?
i feel like that would give plenty of sound deadening, and if i had to, i could put some behind the plastic trim pieces that cover the rear corners (below the seatbelt area)
the farther away you put it the less it will help, so i dont have a mental pic of how your trucks sits or were the sub will be or what rattleable things will be around it. so thats kinda up to you.
but think of it this way, ever shake a tree branch, you dont shake the leaves you shake the base of the branch, you move the base a lil 5 feet away is moving alot.
your sub 10 or 12 is not moving enuff air to push the change in your cup holder around, but since its bolted to the back half of your truck, your truck is tring to hold it still and your subs trying to shake. so the shaking gets absorbed thur the body and to every lil thing attached too it, if you can cut down on how much gets absorbed into the body you cut down on the rattle,
how much and were are application dependent
hope it helps
