I have a broken toe... the bone literally broke in half. I walked around on it for a day and a half before I went to the hospital, I even put the fender on my truck and detailed the inside. That was about 4 days ago, and ever since I've done absolutely nothing. I can't do anything and I'm used to being a very physical active person. So with that said do any of you know something I can do here on the computer that's constructive or fun, time consuming or anything? Damn I just wanna make the time go by faster.

There are all kinds of games available either free or even on your computer (solitare, freecell, pinball (see if you can top 12 million on pinball)...

That's a good pass-time, but I would suggest maybe some upper body conditioning exercises to help burn off the nervous energy...pushups are good...situps...dips...chinups...anything that isolates the upper body that you can do without elevating the foot would help you to sleep better and feel better...and if you have a weight training set you could indulge in that a bit...

Also...isometric exercises...but make sure you keep breathing throughout the hold phase of those so as not to cause any other issues...same as weight training and calisthenics...always breathe as normally as possible...

Oh, and meditation also can help...your mind doesn't need to be occupied with nonsense to be beneficial...check out the search engine if you need meditation information...

Hope the toe heals quickly...they can really slow you down when they're sore or mending...I twisted my ankle in a tournament and couldn't walk right for about six weeks...and teaching classes was a bit difficult but I managed...

Yeah I usually work out pretty intensely so I've been doing a little of that, as much as I can. My set's downstairs though so that's a challenge on crutches lol. No more mma for a while though :-/. I've never done meditation, never even thought of it to be honest lol.
Yeah it sucks. I can't do anything. I had all these plans that just came to a screeching halt... it really blows. I can't work (I'm a waiter) so I can't get anymore parts for my truck for a while. I usually pull in about 300 a week... it would have been done in no time :(. It's a depressing situation really lol.

Perhaps see about being some sort of food prep at your restaurant? Something where you can sit and have your foot rest/be proped up. EG cutting bread, assembling plates. I dont know enough about the workings of a restaurant kitchen, but perhaps there is something there to keep you busy, and keep some money flowing.

Or, if your going to be down for a month, sign up for WOW. it's a fun time waster, much better than pinball, lol.

Eh, I wish they had a job like that, but everything there involves a lot of walking back and forth at the least. I need some movie websites or a site to download games. I'm so desparate I'm about to ask someone to get me a book. The only upside to this is me and the g/f are spending a lot more time in my room.

I picked up COD4 awhile back for the comp and I have to say it's the first game I've gotten really into playing... I played single player for awhile then got into online and haven't gone back to finish single player yet. It does suck up time though.

Another thing I've done to kill time was to get a copy of Dreamweaver 8 and start learning to build webpages and websites. I had always thought that doing webpages an stuff was a cushy job where one didn't have to work hard. HA! To do a good job on a page it takes a good bit of time to start from scratch. If you can work from a template it saves you a lil time but still. I've found I've also come to hate some sites because of the poor design that was done as well.

Or you could do something that I wish I had time to get back into... model building. Get a level 3 model car/truck/plane/boat and put it together... but think about making it realistic. Some sooty stuff around the exhaust, fab in a hinge here or there to make a door work or somethin, dirt here an there, fab your own parts to make it more realistic and convey a sense of speed or whatever. I've built a few models that turned out really sweet and I have a closet full of stuff that I just haven't had time to work on. I tend to buy paint colors as I need them and often will shoot at least the base coat for paint via rattlecan. Get an exacto knife with a rubber handle and a couple good paint brushes from an art supply store. I can supply other tips and such if interested.

There's websites out there devoted to killing time but I often end up bored with them after a lil while because I feel like I'm wasting time, that there's other things I could be doing that would be more productive like reading or writing. But that sort of thing isn't for everyone.

Good idea's dude. I used to build a lot of models too, something I'd really like to get back into. There's an STX I could build, even though it's single cab :(.
Thanks.

Plenty of ways to kill time. Wikipedia's link browsing will have you ending up at places you would have never thought of. Don't go the World of Warcraft route. I've seen people turn into computer junkies after getting addicted to that mess. Meditation is also a good one. Concentrate on your injury and you can actually help it to heal itself a little faster. Sit relaxed and comforatable in a quiet situation with maybe just some ambient noise in the background like a fan. Visualize a firelike glow running from the rest of your body down to your injured toe. I know how strange it sounds but it will feel better if you do this a couple times a day.

If all else fails and you're still bored get Grand Theft Auto 4. 6 weeks will pass before you're through with that or bored of it.

Lol. I'd love to have GTA4... only if I had a game system. That's something I'm definitely planning on buying after I get the ranger straight :D. I think the 360 is the way to go. I won't turn into a computer junkie no matter what I do or play on here... I like it too much outside :(.
