how the russians go out and wheel.......


Is it me or did the first truck have a solid axle that was also an independent?

ya i noticed that a few times. how does this work?

For the life of me I cannot recall the name of it. There's some big military Volvo's running around with it too.

It's basically the same as the Rangers TTB, only it pivots off of either side of the differential, and again like the Ranger - with a radius arm to keep things in check. though I'm pretty sure some use a type of A-arm as well.
 
In the original vid, they are actually driving between stakes, which I didnt realize at first. Those big truck (Ive driven the 4 wheel models) arent easy to maneuver and much less so the ones with 8 wheels. Thats good driving no matter how you look at it.
 
Not to mention they roll over somewhere between 15-30 degrees
