how strong motor mounts

i know the motor mounts from james duff are weak and let the motor move around alot with a 302

I'd use poly fox body motor mounts... I have my stock 302 on 2.8 mounts now and it moves around like I bolted it to jello...

Fox body polys are going in this summer.

i made my mounts from stock mount brackets and a block of aluminum.. works great, but they are solid.

Don't use the 4-cyl. engine mounts to install a 5.0L - not strong enough. 4-cyl. mounts are hydraulic, as I understand, and are insufficient for the 5.0L's load.
The 4.0L V6 mounts on the other hand, work fine, with homemade adapter plates. This is what I've done.
But, if I was going to do it again, I'd probably use the mid-to-late 80's Convertible Mustang mounts, switched side-for-side. This requires drilling and slotting the crossmember for the mounts. Several people have done this and posted pics of the installation here, and on RPS. Do a search on "vert mounts".

I'll bet you hear and feel everything the engine does, whether you're sitting in the cab or on the tailgate.

I have my 302 mounted to 2.9 mounts now and as Totalled said,"the motor moves around like it's mounted to jello".Thats fine, but that's a 302,the 393 might want to take off and leave me.I think I'll go with the solid mounts. On my other post about the rod problem I was having, the narrow bearings are the fix according to Eagle.
