How Strong is The Dana35 TTB REALLY???

the lil red rocket tried to throw me a curve. yesterday i went to a friends and did a few donuts and played a little in his back yard. ended up with the water pump going out and pouring water out faster than i could refill it. now hava new water pump and t-stat.:icon_thumby:
 
just as i expected, right front hub broke. dont know what did it in but it didnt last long because i was getting stuck alot more often towards the end of the night.:dunno:
 
just an update. after i got a set of WARN hubs for the front end after the mile markers broke i took it to the same mudhole again. i decided to swap the rotation of the front tires and turn them around backwards so maybe it wouldnt dig down so fast causing the front diff to drag, bottoming me out. truck seemed to like that MUCH better and seemed to go thru alot more before getting stock and i caould actually back out after getting stuck.

i beat on the truck pretty hard there and nothing broke so WARN is the way to go.:icon_thumby::D
 
i dont know what WARNs i have. i got them from a membe ron here used that had a few sets. he said he had some wiht bearings on the inside and some with bushings. i told him i wanted bushings so thats what he sent. i know they are definatly heavier than my old MM hubs and thicker to boot. i had to grind out the centers on the wheels my vtreads are on about 1/8" more to clear these hubs.
 
I have some warn hubs from a parts store. The ranger ones for the d35. I ran 35s and the good ujoints with front and rear lockers and 4.88 gears. They never broke.

How do you have a headache? I bought warn hubs from a parts store, that are for the RBV DANA 35. I have the upgraded spicer UJOINTS. My axles have 4.88 gears and LOCKERS. The warn hubs did not FAIL. I have 35 INCH TIRES. Comprehension much?

It reads like a text message from my 14 year old daughter.

Back to the hub issue.
There are a F**K TON of variables that play a part in D-35 strength.
List of a few,very few.
Weight of vehicle.
Weight of tires/wheels.
Type of tires. (boggers on rocks will break hubs before MTRs in mud will)
Type of terrain. (mud,rocks,dirt,clay,bla bla bla)
Engine torque.
Gearing.
Lockers.
Driving style.
Condition of drivetrain.
Ect ect ect.

Just because YOU didnt break Warn hubs from a parts store dosen't meen I wont.
I destroid 3-4 iirc on my D-35 with 33 Baha Claws and open diffs. But im not known for being easy on the throttle.

At $9.99 a pair from the JY I will have no bad feelings about running Warn hubs. I am pretty easy on it though, I haven't had a problem with my D28 so far. I do have 2.5 sets of D35 Warn hubs for when I make the switch though :D

So far these have been great. It'll have the v-treads back on it Saturday night for some more playing and pulling people out. This time tho I should have full power, last time out my MAF was dirty and making the truck run like sh!t with hardly no power.
