I poop in the furnace.
Every tire I know has a 4 digit date code. This one apears to have 3 digits? Can anyone decipher this!

It's technically a new tire, never used or mounted but its been in a garage for who knows how long. I got it free to replace my spare that is 12 years old but now I'm thinking this thing may be even older...

Unless somehow its made in the 9th week of 2022? Did i find a tire from the future!!!??!?!!?

25350

It was made in late May or early June of 2009. The DOT code is stamped backwards.

Ive never seen that before, is that an error or is it a manufacturer specific way to label the date?

That's actually a normal date code format for most everything else in the world - 22nd week of '09.

I just checked all 3 of the cars in my driveway, they are all week then year. My cheapo continentals on my ranger say 4515, my coopers on my lincoln are 2517, the no name "cobras" on my mustang are 3102... first time seeing it reversed.

code at the end says '045' so it would be the 4th week of 1995. could it theoretically be that old Dirtman?

Dry rotted or have any bubbles? Run it till it pukes id say free the best price.

My spare is already dry rot free and unused but made in 08. Rubber has a lifetime.... So this "new" tire is still garbage to me.

Adsm knows all. He says 09 then so be it.

when I worked at sears auto center back in 2008-2010 we always went by the last set of 4 digit numbers after the and it was always week/year. You got to check both sides though because they tend to only date one side IIRC. How old do you suspect the tire being?

i had a used set of deerpaw style rims on my 92 ranger once, left front blew at 70 mph while passing a semi, since that tire was identical to the other front tire i looked at the date code and found out it was made in 1986. ouch. someone muct have put some junkyard casings on those rims, the deer paw style didnt appear until 93 and these rims were newer than that since the center caps were held on by retainers over the lug nuts. too bad the old tires werent on it when that truck was stolen, could of been some poetic justice. but nope... i took the original rims and put new tires on about 3 months before it "dissapeared" on me. still have that garbage set of wheels.

It's a uniroyal if that matters? I thought uniroyal was a US company?

owned by Michelin, manufactured in many countries.
