Tomorrow I'm haulin my bronco body and chasis away. Time to park in the garage again!

What's the average price of scrap metal?

And anybody know of a good place in CO that pays decent?

my local yard pays $30/ton. i think its worth more. i thought you had a buyer for the rest of your donor though?

you need to find another scrapper...all the scrap yards here are low right now and they're paying 120-130 a ton.

I got turned on to the highest paying one in town. Still no numbers, but I've heard good things.

MetalMac, A father and son were going to build up a Bronco but backed out at the last minute.

I bought the truck for 400, sold $200 worth of random parts, sold the tranny for 100 the other day, and if i could get at least 100 for it at the scrap yard, my axles, buckets, radius arms, shock towers, power steering box, and a good set of 33x12.5s would be free, minus labor and beer.

I feel I did alright on this one

best idea is to pull the rad. and all the copper you can and scrap them seperate... alum is like 74c a pound and copper is like 2.36 by us.. So if you can get that outta the truck it would be a good idea. Its 130 a ton by us. yea i scrap what ever i can... Most i ever had was like $113 in copper

my brother in law parted a 79 f150. (we needed a 351) got it for 150. I payed 300 for both axles , sold the tires for 300. And we pulled apart the motor and it was just rebuilt ( was a guys project) c6 np205... yeah he made out reallll well.

wow i guess i wont be taking any scrap there. doesnt matter. i was pricing out some junk i had and ended up trading it for an 8.8" from an explorer at another yard.

about 4 years a go my friends dad was cleaning out their junkers, and he only got about $30/car, he hauled them to the yard himself after we drained fluids removed rad, cat etc.. have prices changed A LOT since then, or does Massachusetts just have shitty scrap yards?

I'm guessin MA just likes to bone ya.

150 a ton here, usually. Now I just have to get a trailer from a friend of mine.

I would say you have shitty scrap yards.

I can't recall a price for scrap below $0.06/lb in the past six years.

And the price has been up to $0.095/lb in the past 18months.

So at a minimum $120/ton, and it should be higher.
Any less and you are getting screwed.
