How much would you sell it for?

My credo
Crossed threads are tight threads.
I get asked this often when I show up in the Ranger.

I doubt I would ever sell my Ranger, but I sure come frustratingly close sometimes when she is being a PITA.

Bought it in 2015 for $3900 and have dumped a lot of time, money, parts, blood, sweat, tears etc since then...

IF I were ever to sell, it would be $5000 minimum.

1993 extended cab 4x4 4.0 OHV 5spd manual, 92k original miles. Needs some TLC, but a gem.

What would you take for your Ranger? Or what did you pay if you bought it private party?

5k also. But i would have to already have been planning on selling it

Ha ha ha, not already planning

I wouldn't sell it for a hair under what I owe on it 🙂

I recently agreed to sell my '03 to my brother when he gets back from deployment in Europe.
I agreed to $1800 and two cases of beer. '03, 4.0, 4wd, MT, 262,000 miles + whatever I put on it in the mean time. It was already half his, be I bought it he gave me half the money and we were planning on building it into an offroad/ camping truck. Collectively I think we paid $2500 for it.
The transfer case in his chevy exploded right before he deployed so he sold it for scrap, and now that he's getting back he needs it more then I do.

I also agreed to give my other brother the '96. 4.0, 4wd, MT, 145,000 miles. Paid $1600 for it. Although that was the plan when I bought it.

I would sell my '11 for the right price, but then I wouldn't have a small truck, so it would be expensive to replace. '11, 4.0, auto, 2wd, 95,000miles. Would have to be well north of $10K to consider it. I really like this truck, and the only reason I would consider selling it is that I would rather have a single cab long bed w/ MT, everything else would be the same, even the color.

Paid 6kand almost immediately put another 6k into it. More since then. It's a labor of love. It's my buddy. It's my sanity. No plans to sell. 93, 3.0l, M5OD, 1354e, 6" lift, 35's, 4.56 gears with Ausdie Lockers.

But if someone were to offer me $75k right now, I could get another labor of love.

With the cost of vehicles now, I have no desire to sell either of them. The 2011 is paid off and I have a little over a year to pay off the 2019.

My 02 has over 281K miles on it and I have no desire to sell it. It is running very well with no problems. I have found notes on it asking to contact them because they want to buy it. I don't bother to contact them because I know they would not pay what it is worth to me. I would have to get way more than it is worth to even consider selling. If I was offered $10,000, I would consider it but would probably still turn it down. Once I hit 300K, I may be more willing to sell, but I will probably buy a new (2025?) Ranger and just keep the 02.

I'd sell any of mine for the right price, except my F150 (grandpa bought it new and I can't part with it.) Stepside truck and Explorer would need to be an exceptionally high offer, I have too much time into them to give them away. 85, 86, 87 and the beater '88 I could be more reasonable with.

I paid $700 for my 94 about 5 or 6 years ago, have another 3K in it. Have no plans on parting with it, would like something a bit newer but this is still doin what I need it to do. Ive yet to find a used ranger Id want , Weve thought about a new maverick but they are still in overly high demand. I was considering a used chevy 1/2 ton a month or so ago, passed on it and she said good, we dont need a V8. But just last week a mile down the road someone has a 97 suburban for sale and she likes it. What does she think it has? most likely a 350, the truck I was considering was a 4.8 (less than 300 c.i.d.) I do need to change the steering box on the ‘94, at almost 170K it is getting a lot of play in it.

I might part ways with my truck at some point. I would really like to get into a new truck eventually.

I sold one of mine once. Terrible experience, not sure I ever want to do it again. Bought it for $250, put probably $150 into it, drove it for a campus beater for a few years and sold it for $1,800, then promptly made another couple hundred fixing what I hadn’t got around to fixing. Should have kept that 89 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. Used that to fund putting my choptop on the road.

My choptop I bought for $160 as a 2wd with a blown up 2.9 and a burned wiring harness. I’ve had a number of people ask what I’d take for it, I refuse to even put a number to it. I have somewhere north of $6k into it at this point.

My 88 I paid $340 for it. Not sure what I have into it at this point, but probably not more than $1k

My 92 was in trade for some electrical work. I have probably around $800-1,200 into it.

My blue 00 I bought brand new for $10,500 if I remember right.

My F-150 I bought for… well, I want to say 1,500 but I don’t rightly remember. I do know that I sunk about 2k into it the first year. I’d guess probably another 3-4K since. It needs another major overhaul though and I’m expecting it will run me 3-5k.

Dump truck I think I bought from dad for a grand or so.

Green 00 was $4k. I don’t know what exactly I have into it, but it wouldn’t surprise me if I have 6-8k into it now.
