How much fluid for 8.8?

I need to get gear oil for 8.8 28 spline. How much does it take? It has a Trickflow girdle on it.

Supposed to take 2.4L of gear oil in stock form, not too sure about with the trick flow cover. Probably holds more with it tho.

Yea i'd say grab 3L

Good call, I'll get 3 quarts and see where that gets me. 3L is just a little more than that. BTW, I like the metric system better anyways lol!

if that's a limited slip rearend make sure you put the friction modifier in the fluid.

It is an Eaton Posi and I am using Lucas gear lube, which it says it is ok for LSD without extra modifier. Will this be OK?

I would contact eaton to make sure, but if it says that on the bottle I wouldn't be to concerned.

I would not be too worried about it. Worst case scenario is that the posi will grab better.
