327,854 and still ticking (literally).

194,000 miles on mine. Transmission work has been done a few times. Runs like a beauty.

Sounds like we've got a wide range of usage here. I'm glad to know these engines can run for a good many more miles than what I've got on mine. From the sound of things and the fact that my engine shows no signs of quitting I hope to get several more years of service out of it(I really don't want a car payment)
I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one who has experienced a rusted thru valve cover. The one on the right bank looked like it was leaking so I washed the engine down so I could try to pin point the leak. Checked it the next day when I got home and the leak appeared to start about 1/2 way up the side of the valve cover.

I bought a 94 3.0 4x4 out of Mass. and flipped it. After I did all the work to it and started driving it I discovered that the oil pan had rusted thru!!
Good times!!

Wow. Impressive numbers. I just bought my first 4.0, a 2004 Ranger 4X4, 26K, and I certainly hope I have the luck all of you did. I've always heard superb things about this engine.

Just shy of 62000 and no problems yet at all with the engine. I had to replace one tie rod end but that's it.

2004 4.0 XLT

.

Bought mine this past October with about 76,000, now i have 81,000+
Still runs awsome, no problems...I have always heard BAD things about USA cars, and many of friends (From experince) said american cars are cheaply made and not good quality (some of which is true)..and i should always buy foregin ESP>TOYOTA, and from expereice toys are very dependable cars..I have owned 2 with well over 150-200,000...No problems...But i drove my grandpas 91 ranger for a while while i had my permit..And i remember it had the best steering i have ever messed with..SO when i sold my toy, I wanted a ranger because there compact little F-150s...and they just look tuff to me......

119k on my 97
